Bristol-Myers Squibb manufacturing operations has been located in Ireland since 1964. The company has an active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing site based in Swords, Co. Dublin. They also have a distribution centre in Shannon, Co. Clare. In addition, the company has external manufacturing as well as pharmaceutical commercial divisions in Ireland.

In 2014, Bristol-Myers Squibb announced their decision to build a biologics manufacturing facility in Cruiserath, Dublin 15. The $1 billion investment solidifies Bristol-Myers Squibb’s relationship with, as well as their, belief in Ireland.

Swords Laboratories

Established in 1964, the Swords Laboratories was one of the first bulk API manufacturing facilities established in Ireland. This $1 billion biologics manufacturing facility in Dublin 15 specialises in the production of immuno-oncology medicines. This facility is state-of-the-art in its design, as well as technology and processes. When fully operational in late 2018, this biologics plant will employ approximately 440 scientists, engineers, bioprocess operators, and quality specialists as well as other skilled workers.

Course Charges

There are no tuition fees, however, there are costs attached to all courses. These include an acceptance fee, payable after a place has been offered and accepted, in addition to a PLC levy, and student services charge. Furthermore, there are examination fees and charges for course materials, payable at registration or by arrangement with the College.

International applicants (Non-EA)

SCFE also welcomes applications from international learners. Non-EA applicants (from outside the EU, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland) must comply with Irish immigration requirements and are responsible for the economic cost of the course, as determined by the Department of Education & Skills, in addition to SCFE course charges.

Established in 1995, the Radio School offers part-time courses and training in radio broadcasting as well as media studies from beginners to advanced level. Since then they have continuously updated its training programmes in line with technological advances.

A team of experienced professionals, all of whom are experts in the radio business, delivers the courses. In addition, a panel of guest lecturers teaches specialised areas of the course. The Radio School’s tutors are committed to helping students to learn real world experience and skills. As a result, they are able to proceed into the workplace. Due to their continuous involvement in the industry, they can prepare students thoroughly for involvement in this dynamic area, both at home or abroad.

To work in a professional environment you must be familiar with the operation of professional standards of equipment as well as have the ability to use creative skills to enhance the on-air product. Full and part-time courses

Jule Beauty Academy offers full time and part time courses leading to the internationally recognised VTCT beauty specialist qualification.

The courses take place at their state-of-the-art Academy in Swords. Classes are small with between 6 to 12 students each. Therefore, all students receive individual attention.

Jule Beauty Academy has structured their courses so that there is a focus on practical study. As a result, students are 'salon ready' when they complete the course.

The Academy has a range of specialist tutors. These professionals have, and continue to have, current hands-on experience in the beauty industry

About VTCT

VTCT also owns ITEC, but Jule Beauty Academy favours the VTCT programme because it is one of continuous assessment. This is particularly beneficial for students who find exams stressful. Furthermore, it eliminates the need for costly examination fees.

The VTCT syllabus is reviewed annually to ensure that all the very latest treatments are included. By excluding non-relevant treatments students can be certified within a 6 month time frame.

A successful track record

All students have access to salon experience through Jule Beauty & Spa, with branches in Ashbourne, Swords and Malahide, as well as Dublin City Centre.

The Academy has a proven track record of success. Jule Spa currently employs more than 50 therapists. Many of these have come through the Jule Academy. The next course commences October 2017, with certification in March 2018.
