We are proud to have Bus Éireann take part in Jobs Expo Dublin. The company will be exhibiting, as well as recruiting this Saturday at Croke Park's Hogan Suite.

The Bus Éireann tradition

Bus Éireann have inherited a proud tradition of public service dating back almost to the foundation of the State.

The Irish Omnibus Company was established in 1926.  This organisation developed a nationwide network of bus services under contract to the Great Southern Railways. Over the years the IOC evolved. Primarily as the Omnibus Department of the Great Southern Railways and, from 1945 onwards, as the Road Passenger Division of CIE.

On the re-organisation of CIE in 1987, the bus services outside Dublin city once again became the responsibility of a separate subsidiary company - Bus Éireann.

For over 80 years, the national bus network has been an essential and integral part of Ireland's transport infrastructure. They continue to build on that tradition of public service and transport expertise. As a result, they give Ireland a bus and coach system of which we can be justly proud in the new millennium.

Work Performance

Bus Éireann have consistently performed well since operations began in 1987. They've succeeded both in commercial terms and in the delivery of social services.

They have become more cost effective while still remaining focused on the delivery of quality customer service. Through better control of resources, they now carry more people using fewer buses. Therefore, they've reduced the cost of maintaining buses while expanding the level of service.

Career Benefits

Benefits for all grades of staff include:

Equality

Bus Éireann is committed to equality of opportunity in all its employment practices, policies and procedures and to the creation of a working environment free from discrimination.
