Role Purpose
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible with assisting the Finance Department within the business, and support senior members of the finance team across a number of areas.

Key Functions of the Bookkeeper

  • Recording of daily cash in/out from our various bank accounts, and subsequent preparation of daily cash flow projections
  • Bank reconciliations across all companies
  • Preparation of Vat returns across a number of jurisdictions for review by senior members of the finance team prior to filing.
  • Preparation of Intrastat returns across a number of jurisdictions for review by senior members of the finance team prior to filing.
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting entries would be a plus.
  • CSO Returns
  • Interacting with the Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable departments on a daily basis
  • Ad-hoc finance duties as required
  • Build strong inter-departmental relationships. Communication is key so it’s important to get to know the various stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement culture
  • Work harmoniously as a member of the broader finance team, and contribute to a positive team environment at all times.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities
Deadlines are a major part of the role, and you will be responsible for meeting those deadlines, whether they be internal (management accounts, reports etc) or external (Vat returns/Intrastat etc)

  • Must ensure that all Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable are resolved, and seek further advice if necessary from the other members of the team.
  • Responsible for analysing data, and ensuring that all information on our various ledgers is accurate and concise.
  • Communication is essential at all times.
  • A high level of initiative is expected in this role.
  • Email etiquette is very important – you are expected to be professional in all your dealings with internal & external persons.


  • Suggestions on improving internal processes are always welcome.
  • Working within the Finance team, you are expected to keep all information pertaining to the company’s accounts/records private and confidential.
  • You will proactively and vigilantly keep information secure and fully comply with the Kirby Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Must be very proficient on Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft Navision would be a plus but not essential.
