At the forefront of developments in intelligent systems, new material applications and low energy/high efficiency control solutions, this global R&D and HiTech manufacturing organisation have retained the services of Brightwater Specialist Recruitment to source an experienced and driven Manufacturing and Engineering Technician to develop and work on cutting edge manufacturing processes at their product development centre in Cork.

The Job

Reporting to the Quality & Lean Integration group working within the Manufacturing Engineering Team you will be responsible for supporting the equipment and processes required to produce high-reliability electronic assemblies.

–      You will also be responsible for sustaining the day-to-day maintenance of the PTH, SMT and box build equipment and manufacturing processes within the electronics manufacturing facility.

–      Perform monitoring of SMT & PTH product build quality, identify and resolve poor product quality from SMT and PTH lines

–      Ensure equipment is maintained in working order, preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to and machine uptime is maximised across

–      SMT, PTH, Prep Equipment, Conformal Coating Equipment, Packaging Equipment, Torque Drivers, Environmental screening chambers.

–      Working with Manufacturing Engineers on New Product Introductions (NPI) in relation to the timely ordering of jigs & fixtures and writing of equipment programs for SMT and PTH equipment.

–      Program and debug of computer controlled equipment

–      Select, order and maintain machine spares in relation to equipment needs

–      Work with manufacturing Team leader on lean product flows and process improvements

–      Responsible for housekeeping of relevant work areas and spares storage areas

–      Operate with a Lean mindset – identifying and minimising waste in all processes and from the greater Value Stream.

You

You will be a problem solver, able to work on your own initiative with little supervision, in a manufacturing environment of rapidly changing priorities and keep production moving in the short term while having a long term focus on Lean and Continuous Improvement.

This role requires a high degree of flexibility in terms of working problems to resolution while having the interpersonal skills to work closely with others. Business demand may require overtime and/or shift at various times.

+2 years in a certified Electronics Manufacturing environment, applying Lean principles, contributing to improvement projects.

Level 7 in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent qualification.
