The Capital Equipment Repair Test Engineer will perform a variety of routine and semi-routine tasks to ensure production quality standards are met. Under general supervision, performs the setup of equipment, fixtures, components, cables, etc. for test. Perform mechanical assemblies, recognizes failures and setup problems, and determines need for appropriate verification. Operates programmable AC auto-tests, samplers, real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and special AC test fixtures. General instructions are given for routine work and detailed instructions are given for new product setup & project execution.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform Failure analysis on capital equipment to get to root cause component level, using PSRM & DMAIC engineering essential guidelines.
  • Reviews or develops processing and/or creation of manufacturing work instructions.
  • Maintains detailed validation documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis in Boston Scientific tracking databases and systems.
  • Performs set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product.
  • Performs routine and some non-routine technical assignments using standard methods and sequences. Assignments require limited judgment in troubleshooting proven processes. and assisting with resolution of quality NCEP/CAPA and manufacturing issues.
  • Understanding of TPIs and product theory of functionality and operation.
  • Train Technician’s as required.
  • Provides support for Capital Equipment Manufacturing, Repair Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and any other internal customers as required.
  • Knowledge of electronic test tools required (Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators) to component level including soldering/desoldering.

 

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Level 8 Technical Qualification in Engineering
  • 1 – 3 years Electronic Test debug, repair and calibration experience desirable
