About this Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, desk-based Claims Handler to join our client’s team in Dublin. The successful candidate will have experience in:

  • Latent Defect insurance claims

  • Construction bonds

  • Surety claims

OR complex property claims and will be responsible for handling high value European cases using agreed claims processes to achieve settlement objectives.

Specific Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Handling European files, appointing and liaising with experts and solicitors

  • Agreeing or recommending reserves, raising payments, agreeing case strategies

  • Reporting on all cases in particular on large losses

  • Reviewing bordereaux claims to identify trends and potential high value claims

  • Carrying out of any other duties as required within the scope of the role


  • APA/CIP and/or extensive experience in handling structural/latent defects claims, construction bonds, surety claims OR complex property claims

  • Minimum 2 years experience in handling complex/high value insurance claims relating to latent/structural defects, construction bonds, surety claims OR complex property claims

  • Experience handling French construction bonds (highly desired but not essential)

  • Fluency in French and English (highly desired but not essential)

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Excellent organisation skills
