Job Description
Maintenance Electrical Engineer
Duties will include;
Preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
Responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant;
New design,
Installation and relocation of existing equipment.
Overhaul and repair of machines and equipment plus ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe
Working efficiently and fit for purpose is a key part of the role.
Automation design and implementation through-out the process and new equipment installation and commissioning
Electrical maintenance, process control, troubleshooting & fault finding
Implement scheduled Preventative Maintenance programs on all equipment
Carry out wiring installation and commissioning of plant/equipment & trouble shooting of same
Carry out programming and diagnostics of plant and equipment
Ensure all machines and equipment are safe & fit for purpose
Minimise downtime on equipment through fast response, effective root cause analysis and strong fault finding skills
Actively promote & adhere to safe working practices
Carry out engineering work orders in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to GMP
Work with and coordinate external contractors
Undertake repairs and services to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and pre-determined specifications
Effective Communication – keeping management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required
Electrical and Mechanical trouble-shooting & electro-mechanical repairs to PLC controlled plant
Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment installations and modifications
Contribute to the efficiency of the operation by maximizing uptime of machinery
Minimise downtime in production and utility areas
Monitor and record the use of spare parts
Effective analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems
Have a working knowledge/experience with a “Lock-out Tag-out” program
Provide electrical engineering support to the manufacturing & administration facility
Support the plant facilities and services, including compressed air & gas fired boilers
Any other duty as may be required commensurate with the post
Working knowledge of CMMS programs
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
You will have completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship with at least 5 years post apprenticeship experience within a high volume production facility.
Hold a relevant electrical engineering degree
PLC programming, troubleshooting and fault finding experience
Experience in reading and interpreting electrical drawings essential
Experience working with mechanical systems would be an advantage
Knowledge and experience working on a wide range of corrugated board machinery would be a distinct advantage
Knowledge and experience of hydraulics, steam, water and pneumatics
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematic drawings
Experience and working knowledge of 5S, SMED, JIT, Standard Work and other Lean tools and systems
Experience in using AutoCAD
