In this position you will be a member of the silicon engineering division of the Ethernet Products Group. As part of this high-performance team, you will be involved in the development of leading edge Cryptographic, Ethernet and Packet Processing solutions on best in class ethernet products. The team is looking for physical design engineers across a range of experience levels who have physical design skills.

Shannon is the primary location for this position, however, we offer flexibility to work from other Intel sites in Leixlip and Cork. In addition we are happy to support flexible work/life balance arrangements.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • As a Physical Design Engineer, you will play an integral role in contributing within experienced teams to the successful definition of new Intel products whilst working closely with Architecture, SoC, RTL and Manufacturing teams to ensure the design will achieve first-time-right silicon in high volume production.
  • You will be working on the most advanced nodes available today on the market.
  • Your contribution will span from RTL synthesis all the way to sign-off GDS.
  • You will participate and lead others in developing methodologies, flows, automation and improvements.

Educational Qualifications:

Hons. Bachelors/Masters in Electronic Engineering /Computer Science or equivalent.
Required Experience:


  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Expertise in either of Timing Constraints & STA, Physical LVS/DRC sign-off, EM/IR-drop analysis and physical design methodologies using Synopsys, Cadence or other SYN/APR tools.
  • Self-motivated, team worker, good verbal and written communication skills.
