About the role
This Group Marketing role sits within the Marketing Communications team and will help drive the transformation of our digital marketing programmes.
The role with work with the Head of Marketing Communications to lead and manage our presence across key digital channels, with a particular focus on our website.
Serving both internal (employees, stakeholders and senior leadership) and external audiences (retailers, international shoppers, tourists, financial institutions and partners) within the international payments ecosystem, the role requires working with stakeholders from across our business.
By nature, the role will require B2B experience, and an understanding of B2C, skills and experience.
This role will help us go beyond expectations in an industry that is slowly moving away from traditional and hardcopy marketing communications approaches.
We aim to accelerate this evolution, and position our brand as driving the adoption and use of digital communications, technology and payment methods.

What you will do at Planet
Specific areas of responsibility include website management and planning, SEO and website analytics, CRM (Salesforce), lead generation and email marketing.
Additionally, the successful candidate must therefore possess the ability to work across multiple marketing channels – web, social, CRM, eDM etc – to help design and implement integrated campaigns that deliver on business objectives and realise ROI targets.
You will need to be able to work with the broader Marketing Communications team and therefore across time zones, as well as being a highly organised and reliable team player to help us continually search for better and evolve our brand.
Complementing our existing Marketing Communications team, this role involves the following key result areas:
Website ManagementProject management skills engaging with stakeholders of different levels and from different departments to achieved desired outcome on-time and in-budget
Collaborating with the Marketing Communications team and our digital agency (based in London and China) to evolve our website to cater for all of our audiences, beyond the International Shopper: Merchants, Acquirers, Jobseekers and Corporate
Manage and maintain our website and ensure our app, and third party integrations, are optimised and working 24×7
Website content management – ensure all content updates, visual and copy, are managed via the back-end CMS (Umbraco), and coordinated across all language versions
Work with our extended Team to manage our Chinese and Russian language websites, as well as UAE-specific (English and Arabic), to ensure coordinated updates
Listening, understanding and collaborating with the team and peers across the business to ensure only the best, highest quality work is delivered
Website SEO & AnalyticsElevate our SEO to be best best-in-class as an international payments technology and services provider
Manage Google Analytics to ensure we understand the complete end-to-end journey of our website visitors
Ensure reporting of website traffic informs and educates to continually improve and optimise all areas of the site and content on it
Lead management – audit and optimise our website for lead generation, beyond integration with Salesforce, and recommend a roadmap for a fully digital and seamless experience for all leads
Lead generation reporting – ensure reporting is aligned with our CRM team to help our Sales organisation optimise their conversion rates
Digital CommunicationsAble to translate complex subjects into clear, concise English to engage with key audiences e.g. merchants, international shoppers, investors, careers applicants
Work with our Design Studio to ensure a brand elements and assets of our online footprint reflect our digital brand
Writing crisp, concise, enticing copy for eDMs promoting monthly Planet Intelligence and upcoming webinars, with the aim of increasing clickthrough, registration and open rates
Project manage quarterly webinars, working with multiple stakeholders
Assist and manage content for our intranet (Jostle)
What you will need to bring to Planet
Minimum of five years’ digital marketing experience
Experience as a Digital Marketer working as part of a team, but often with your own initiative due to the Marketing Communications team being spread across four continents
Previous experience working in B2B required, and both B2C and B2B2C environments desired (but not essential)
Extensive experience working on website back-ends and Content Management Systems (ideally Umbraco)
Extensive experience of Google Analytics (or similar) is essential
Demonstrable experience of improving website performance, and increasing the quality (and volume) of website sales leads
Understanding of social media channels and experience of day-to-day management
Experience in managing multiple stakeholders often with competing priorities, working with them to align and gain approval
Commercially-minded, with a strong focus on KPIs, performances analysis and delivery – this role is passionate about supporting the business to grow sales
Highly literate in digital marketing, in particular assessing which channels are most appropriate for which communications activities
Skilled at aligning tactical outputs with business strategy
Experience of working with a wide range of digital marketing tools – from marketing automation to website management and SEO
The confidence to present and rationalise complex data sets to stakeholders
Knowledge of website design, but not actual designing or coding itself
Expertise in Google Suite – Analytics, Google My Business, Adwords etc.
Marketing Email /Automation platforms – ideally Campaign Monitor, but also Marketo, Hubspot etc.
SEO – managing our website agency on SEO work, and also SEO tools such as Alexa etc.
Managing contact databases to ensure they are clean and fit-for-purpose
Knowledge and experience of Salesforce databases / integrations
Online webinar platforms e.g. GoToWebinar
Website CMS – Umbraco is desirable
Social media management, reporting and associated management platforms e.g. Hootsuite
