Leading employers McDonald's, Isle of Man Government, PhoneWatch, Aspira, BD and Peter Mark amongst others to recruit at Jobs Expo Cork on 25th May.

Aimed at those looking for a new job or career, Ireland’s premier careers fair, Jobs Expo, returns to Cork on Thursday 25th May. The event takes place between 12pm and 7pm and features employers from a variety of sectors. These include ICT, medtech, healthcare, hospitality and retail, amongst others.

Exhibitors include multinationals such as BD Medical, Eurofins and McDonald’s as well as leading Irish employers, Adare Manor, Aspira, PhoneWatch and Peter Mark. Also in attendance will be the Government of the Isle of Man, who will showcase the variety of career opportunities on the island. In addition, US Immigration Attorney Caro Kinsella returns to advise attendees on how to obtain a US Visa to work in the USA.

Organisers have extended the event's opening times to 7pm to allow for evening attendance. “We decided to extend our event times to accommodate jobseekers who can’t get time off during the day,” says organiser Bronagh Cotter of Careers Unlimited.“We know from previous events that many attendees are already employed but looking for new challenges so we will be open until 7pm in the evening."

Something for everyone

Jobs Expo Cork is run every 6 months at Clayton Hotel Silver Springs and brings thousands of job opportunities to Cork.

“Jobs Expo Cork has something for everyone. There will be vacancies for highly skilled professionals, graduates and school leavers, as well as people returning to work. We also have opportunities for people who need to upskill or are looking for a change in career direction," says Bronagh.

“Whatever their sector, companies need staff of all types of staff. Jobs Expo gives attendees the chance to see what’s on offer in a variety of companies and industries, including ones they may not have considered previously,” explains Bronagh.

Free seminars and career advice

As well as companies recruiting at the event, there will also be a series of talks from industry insiders at Jobs Expo’s Seminar Zone and Agenda Stage. Talks include opportunities with Aspira, FIT’s Software Development Apprenticeship Style Programme, and working in the USA. The Seminar Zone is free-of-charge to all attendees on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Finally, the very popular Career Clinic returns. Over the course of the day, jobseekers will be able to meet one-on-one with career development coaches. The coaches will offer expert professional development advice as well as help jobseekers land their dream job.
