Dublin's leading jobs and careers fair, Jobs Expo, is to return to Croke Park Conference Centre on Saturday 22nd April in what organisers Careers Unlimited say will be its biggest in recent years.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O' Connor TD officially launched Jobs Expo Dublin.

Speaking at the launch, the Minister said, "I'm delighted to launch this comprehensive jobs and career fair. It is an important networking event featuring employers who are offering jobs in the sectors that drive our global economy including biopharma, engineering, healthcare and ICT amongst others. I encourage anyone thinking of a career change to attend this fair. I wish all at Jobs Expo and those attending the event the very best for the future.''

Jobs Expo Dublin will feature employers from a wide variety of sectors, including biopharma, engineering, healthcare, hospitality, as well as ICT, medtech and retail, amongst others. The event will also include a Learning Village for anyone thinking of returning to education, upskilling or changing careers.

Exhibitors include multinationals such as BD Medical, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Jones Engineering Group, Marketo and McDonalds as well as homegrown successes such as Heat Merchants Group, PhoneWatch, Adare Manor and Ireland’s largest hotel operator Dalata. All of these are recruiting for skilled professionals to fill vacancies in their organisations. There will also be opportunities for anyone considering working overseas from companies such Military Autosource, Top Knot Carpentry & Joinery and the Government of the Isle of Man. In addition, US Immigration Attorney Caro Kinsella will advise attendees on how to obtain a US Visa.

A broad range of employers and career opportunities

"We've assembled a broad range of employers with top job vacancies for Jobs Expo on the 22nd and we're certain it will be a must-attend for anyone seeking a career change in 2017. Jobs Expo has grown enormously in recent years. Our ethos has always been that Jobs Expo should offer something for everyone, whether they are a recent graduate, a school leaver, highly skilled, unemployed or just looking for new opportunities," says organiser Bronagh Cotter of Careers Unlimited.

In addition to employers, the new Learning Village will feature colleges and education providers offering a range of study options. Exhibitors include GMB College, Sallynoggin College of Further Education, The Radio School, Peter Mark, Jule Beauty Academy and Nightcourses.com as well as FIT, the ICT talent pipeline.

“The number of attendees keen on returning to education in growing each year. The Learning Village will give them the chance to have a look at full-time as well as part-time and evening courses,” says Bronagh.

Free seminars and career advice

As well as companies recruiting at the event, there will also be a series of talks from industry insiders at Jobs Expo’s Seminar Zone and Agenda Stage. Talks include e-Business on the Isle of Man, FIT’s Software Development Apprenticeship Style Programme, as well as interview skills and working in the USA.

Finally, the very popular Career Clinic returns. Over the course of the day, jobseekers will be able to meet one-on-one with career development coaches. The coaches will offer expert professional development advice as well as help jobseekers land their dream job.

“Whatever sector they are in, companies need staff of all types, from highly trained professionals to experienced administrators and enthusiastic sales people. Jobs Expo gives attendees the chance to see what’s on offer in a variety of companies and industries, including ones they may not have considered previously,” explains Bronagh.
