Planning to take your first steps into the job market? The following companies have exciting opportunities well worth checking out, from graduate programmes to entry-level jobs. 

Accenture 

Accenture offers robust graduate programmes across business and technology integration, cybersecurity, analytics, consulting, software and engineering. The company says that each stream provides competitive graduate salaries too. Applications for the 2021 programmes are currently open and graduates have until the 16th of October to apply for them. BT 

BT Ireland hires graduates through its commercial management pathway, a two-year programme that focuses on managing contracts with partners, suppliers and customers. The successful applicants will take part in rotations, spanning topics such as business law, change management, negotiations and much more. Applications for the BT’s programme will open in October. Bristol Myers Squibb 

For the graduates who are hoping to get some experience in pharma, Bristol Myers Squibb is a great place to work. Its early-career positions include rotational programmes that last anywhere between two and four years, as well as internships and fellowships. The closing date for applicants is the 16th of October. Deloitte 

Deloitte’s graduate programme reassures to make successful applicants an important part of the team from day one. In addition to opportunities in assurance and audit, actuarial, soliciting and tax, they also have dedicated technology programmes. EY 

EY is another company to think about if you are a graduate. Currently, they have more than 270 graduate opportunities for their 2021 programme. These span five different areas: strategy, transactions and tax, assurance (audit), consulting, IT data analytics and cyber. Gamma 

Gamma is a software and data services provider based in Dublin. They focus on reducing risk through location intelligence. They are currently hiring for a master’s graduate with skills in machine learning, statistics and maths to develop a new product, AddressLink, which offers comprehensive information about residential and commercial properties in Ireland. EirGrid 

EirGrid is the state-owned electric power transmission operator in Ireland. They will be hiring up to 20 graduates for their 2021 programme across their Belfast and Dublin teams. Applications will open on the 30th of September. You can learn more here 

KPMG 

KPMG assures hand-on client responsibility for graduates in addition to support, challenging projects and much more. Grant Thornton 

Grant Thornton is another consulting firm that graduates should keep an eye on. It employs more than 1,400 people in seven offices across Ireland, with global operations in more than 143 countries. Their graduate programme is currently open for their offices in Kildare, Longford, Limerick, Galway, Cork and Dublin. The closing date to apply is the 14th of October and interviews will take place between the 29th of October and the 4th of November. To find out more, click here 

PwC Ireland 

PwC is a company recognised for its graduate job opportunities. Applications for its graduate programme are now open and must be in before 5pm on the 14th of October. The company has offices in Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, Galway, Limerick, Cork and Dublin and current opening for the graduates' span tax, assurance and risk assurance. You can find out more here 

SaaS firm ScreenCloud will be hiring for positions in product development, engineering, marketing and much more at their new Northern Ireland hub. 

The SaaS digital-signage company ScreenCloud has announced it is expanding into Belfast with 54 new jobs for the region.  

Led out of London, ScreenCloud provides a software platform and apps to enable clients to display content on digital screens. They work with organisations across numerous industries such as businesses, schools and restaurants. 

Mark McDermott, CEO and Co-founder of ScreenCloud comments on the company’s news which marks its first venture into Northern Ireland. He says he is delighted to “join the growing number of tech companies” that have been drawn to Belfast. Earlier this week, US tech firm Qarik announced that it is establishing a research and delivery hub in the city, taking on 50 new staff". 

“There is a real vibrancy to the sector here,” McDermott said. “Since our company formed in 2015, we have been able to successfully develop and commercialise our product for global markets. 

“Innovation has been central to our success so far and the new Belfast hub will primarily focus on the development of our apps and ensure our continued growth. We have been really impressed by the talent we have found here and are certain that Northern Ireland is the perfect place to drive our business forward.” 

The SaaS firm will be hiring for positions across customer support, marketing and sales, engineering, product development and much more. Almost half of the jobs are already in place and the remainder will be rolled out by 2022 the company reports. 

ScreenCloud has said that all of its employees are currently working remotely. Any new joiners onboarded during the COVID-19 pandemic will be inducted remotely and will also work from home.

Qarik, the New York Software firm will be hiring graduates and senior staff for roles spanning software engineering, data science, UX design and DevOps.  

The New-York headquartered tech firm Qarik made the announcement on the 15th of September that they will be hiring for 50 new roles in Belfast, Northern Ireland as they establish a research and delivery hub in Belfast. 

Gavan Corr, previous principal for Google Cloud Financial Services and Joe Schenk, former Jefferies CFO founded the firm in 2019. The firm provides analysis software development and cloud-based data management to US customers.  

The 50 jobs available in the firm include senior level positions. In addition, there are 10 new roles available specifically for recent graduates. The new jobs will contribute nearly £2.2 million in annual salaries to the local economy.  

37 out of the 50 jobs have already been filled by the New York Software firm. However, there are still a number available in addition to the 10 jobs for recent graduates.  

The Belfast team will be collaborating with the employees in the US office to address legacy issues of traditional financial institutions and the sensitivities and complexity brought about by a regulated environment.  

Invest NI has shown their support toward the new roles in Qarik by offering £325,000 towards them. The jobs are expected to range from graduate level to very senior levels, focusing on data science, software engineering, DevOps and user-experience design.  

Earlier this month, a report was released that highlighted how Belfast ranks strongly against other UK cities, especially when it comes to tech jobs. Many US companies have recently announced their own plans to set up tech bases in the city. Some of these companies include Cygilant, Peak6 and Envorso
