History of EVAS Air / GFT

EVAS Air/GFT is a privately owned, multi-divisional aviation company founded in 1992.  From it’s state of the art building, located at 70 C.L. Dobbin Drive, the company operates EVAS Air and Gander Flight Training (GFT).  The Company originated as GFT, a domestic flight training facility, in 1992.  Since it’s inception, GFT has expanded into a multi-national aviation training institute and has trained thousands of pilots who now work for EVAS and various airlines throughout the world.

EVAS Air has expanded into 704 airline operations using a Beech 1900D, Aerial Medical Evacuation and into Corporate Charter.

In 2004, EVAS realized an opportunity and was successful in obtaining a contract with Air Canada under a Commercial Agreement to be the Tier III provider of it’s flights within the province of Newfoundland & Labrador utilizing an 18 seat Beech 1900D.  Under the call sign of “EVAS Air”, the company has very successfully operated this contract under a Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) for the past 13 years and holds the distinction of having an excellent safety and on-time performance record.  EVAS Air currently provides flights between Gander, St. John’s, Deer Lake, Wabush, Goose Bay, Halifax, Moncton, Saint John NB, Charlottetown and Sept Iles, Quebec as an Air Canada Connector.

EVAS Air is fully staffed and equipped with our own maintenance facility and we take great pride in our Management Team who always embrace the ‘SAFETY FIRST” attitude.  This focus on safety as a corporate culture throughout the entire company.  EVAS Air was the first Tier III Air Canada partner to achieve IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) compliance in its operation and auditing processes

The FirstCare Nursing Home Group have been providing Nursing Home care to their residents for over 24 years within six nursing homes in the Dublin and the Greater Dublin Area. We are pleased to announce that the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) have joined Jobs Expo Dublin. They will be exhibiting at Croke Park on 13th October.

What is the WRC?

Workplace Relations is an independent, statutory body. The Commission’s primary purpose is to educate and provide helpful information on industrial relations. In addition, they inform employees about the rights and obligations under Irish employment and equality legislation.

WRC assumes the roles and functions previously carried out by:

Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) responsibilities

Essentially, WRC is an advocate for the refinement and longevity of exemplary workplace relations. Furthermore, the organisation supports and encourages compliance with relevant enactments.

Additionally, the commission offers guidance in relation to compliance with codes of practice approved under Section 20 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015.

They also carry out reviews and follow up on workplace relations improvements. Furthermore, they conduct or commission research into matters pertaining to workplace relations.

The research results found by WRC, in addition to advice and information, are shared with joint labour committees and joint industrial councils. Furthermore, they advise and appraise the Minister in relation to the application of, and compliance with, relevant enactments. They also offer information to members of the public in with regards to employment.

Workplace Relations leading services include the inspection of employment rights compliance, the provision of information, the processing of employment agency and protection of young persons (employment) licences as well as the provision of mediation, conciliation, facilitation and advisory services.

 

The Commission has a board composed of a chairperson and eight regular members appointed by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
