E-Commerce Company Shopify Creating 50 Jobs in Ireland

Cloud-based commerce firm Shopify announces 50 new jobs for Galway.
Shopify will be recruiting customer support agents for its 24/7 support service.
Shopify is a leading cloud-based commerce platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses. Merchants can use the software to design, set up and manage their stores across multiple sales channels, including web, mobile, social media, brick-and-mortar locations, and pop-up shops.
The firm's Director of Customer Support Roy Sunstrum said: “Our 24/7 customer support has become one of the most valuable services that we offer to our merchants."
“By hiring Remote Gurus in Ireland, we can ensure that merchants around the globe, in any time zone, will have access to one-on-one support from one of our commerce experts."
"Ireland has become a major tech hub and the level of talent is what really drew us to the region.”
Shopify currently powers over 160,000 businesses in approximately 150 countries, including: Tesla Motors, Budweiser, Google, Wikipedia, LA Lakers, GoldieBlox, and many more.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said:
“We can now justifiably call Ireland the internet capital of Europe. Today’s announcement that Shopify is opening operations in Galway and looking to hire up to 50 positions by 2016 is a great boost for the West, and a further great example of what is possible right across the country in this sector.”
Shopify are meeting candidates in Galway from June 1st - 7th.
