Here at Jobs Expo, we are delighted to announce that the Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB) will be exhibiting at our Galway event on Saturday 22nd February 2020. If you are thinking of returning to education, upskilling or doing an apprenticeship, make sure to stop by their stand.
One of the largest training facilities in the West, the GRETB Training Centre provides an excellent range of full-time day courses and evening courses, as well as apprenticeships. They also offer community training programmes and blended learning.
Their course include programmes that provide the skills necessary for employment. QQI, City & Guilds, Microsoft and Cisco as well as other industry-recognised awarding bodies accredit their courses. All GRETB courses have a strong work placement element.
GRETB’s full-time day courses take place throughout the year. These courses include information technology, engineering and quality assurance courses. In addition, there are courses on bus driving as well as HGV Rigid and Artic truck driving. They also offer courses on cleanroom and packaging operations, logistics and distribution, and warehouse operations. Furthermore, there are day courses covering sports and recreation, beauty therapy and healthcare support.
GRETB administer the apprenticeship programme for counties Galway and Roscommon. Apprenticeship is the means by which people train to become craftspeople in Ireland. SOLAS has statutory responsibility for the management of the apprenticeship programme.
Evening and weekend courses take place at the GRETB Training Centre or in a facility in Roscommon. These fee-paying courses are suitable for anyone who wants to upskill for personal as well as professional development. In addition, unemployed clients are eligible through the local DSP/Intreo Office.
The GRETB Training Centre is conveniently located on bus routes from Galway City. There is also ample car parking for all students.
