Jobs Lab

Introducing the Jobs Lab: our dedicated medtech and STEM careers area

The Jobs Lab is Jobs Expo Galway’s dedicated area for medtech and STEM jobs.

Ireland’s medtech and STEM sector has grown year on year. As a result, so has the demand for dedicated staff.

Ireland’s medical technology sector is one of five global hubs. Furthermore, eight of the world’s top ten medtech companies have Irish bases – mostly in Galway and the West. Given this, it is no surprise that Ireland is the second highest employer of medtech professionals in Europe.

The Jobs Lab gives Jobs Expo attendees to meet with medtech and STEM companies and find out about the variety of roles they have on offer. As a dedicated area, it offers exhibitors the chance to meet the right kinds of candidates, showcase their companies and network with other professionals in the sector.

We are delighted to announce that the Jobs Lab will be headed up Boston Scientific, sponsors of September’s Jobs Expo Galway. Other famous names exhibiting at the Jobs Lab are Merit Medical and Transitions Optical.

From Galway to the world

Galway’s medtech companies are not only making innovative medical devices, they are saving lives around the world. Their technological and research breakthroughs as well as the manufacturing know-how improve patients’ lives and increase access to healthcare.

Boston Scientific in Galway is the company’s largest facility in Ireland. This facility produces drug-eluting and biliary stents, as well as catheters. They manufacture more than 3 million life-saving devices a year, shipped to all corners of the globe.

Merit Medical innovates and delivers a diverse range of products to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease as well as many other non-vascular therapies.

Established in 1990, Transitions Optical is a pioneer in light management. Their innovative lenses help people by enhancing their vision and the way they perceive light. The company’s research and development professionals aim to create a better experience for anyone who wears spectacles.
