After three failed attempts at college in the early 2000s, Keith Coburn wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. Hospitality and the sales industries attracted him, and he spent several years in these sectors. In 2007, he had his Eureka moment. He knew he wanted to help people reach their career potential so that they would not look back on life with regret.
Keith returned to education and finished with a Masters Degree in Guidance Counselling from DCU. This was also accompanied by other qualifications in Training and Adult Education, Train the Trainer, Human Resource Management and Employment Law.
Over the years, he worked with government projects including Employ Ability, Jobfit, Momentum, Fast Track to IT and worked as a freelance trainer. He has also designed and delivered workshops to thousands of people, where interaction from the groups is the key.
In addition, Keith has worked with certain projects (working in F.I.T.) which have involved business leaders Intel and Accenture. This included Keith working directly with a group of Individuals, from a variety of backgrounds, become employability ready for selection process with Intel. This was done through running employability workshops and mock interviews with the candidates, before they had formal interviews. He achieved an 80% success rate.
Finally, Keith recently founded his own company, Coburn Guidance. The company offers workshops as well as one-on-one career guidance. He believes that every individual has the right to be excited about the future.
