Jobs Expo, Dublin’s largest careers event, returns to Croke Park on Saturday with thousands of jobs from a range of state, private, national and international companies and sectors. Recruiters include An Garda Síochána, the National Ambulance Service, tech giant Mongo DB, Tifco Hotels, Peter McVerry Trust and the Canadian Government

The event returns to Croke Park on Saturday, showcasing more than 35 leading employers, educators and professional development experts, collectively offering thousands of job opportunities at home and abroad, a full conference day of talks and seminars and free career advice in the event's Career Clinic.

Companies and organisations taking part include MongoDB, MRP, PhoneWatch, TCP Solutions and the Peter McVerry Trust as well as the Government of Canada, who are bringing several leading Canadian companies, plus employers from the UK and Australia.

There are also a number of public service jobs on offer too: the National Ambulance Service and An Garda Síochána will both be recruiting at the event. Canadian opportunities include jobs in the healthcare, food service and transportation sectors. In addition, the Government of the Isle of Man will be taking part, showcasing jobs and opportunities on the island. Australian company CMV Truck & Bus will also be recruiting at the event.

“This is the first time An Garda Síochána has exhibited, and they have 800 positions to fill. We are also delighted that the National Ambulance Service is taking part. These are necessary public services, and they also offer fulfilling careers,” says Bronagh Cotter of event organiser, Careers Unlimited. “We are also really thrilled to be able to offer jobseekers so many international opportunities. With both the Canadian Government and the Government of the Isle of Man taking part, Jobs Expo Dublin will have a wealth of overseas jobs,” she adds.

SIX DEDICATED JOB ZONES

Jobs Expo Dublin has six separate zones to make it easier for attendants to find the companies and jobs that interest them the most. Jobs Expo Dublin’s dedicated areas include:

  • The Jobs Lab – medtech and STEM jobs
  • The Digital City – opportunities for computer and IT specialists
  • The Mall – jobs in sales, retail and related areas
  • Go Global – career opportunities overseas
  • The Campus – education, training and upskilling opportunities
  • The Site – opportunities in construction, engineering and related trades

CAREER ADVICE AND SEMINARS

Jobs Expo Dublin will also include free career advice as well as a series of industry seminars. The Career Clinic offers the chance for attendees to meet a team of professional careers coaches free of charge. In addition, Jobs Expo Dublin's Agenda Stage will offer a full conference day free, topical talks by industry insiders. These will include job-seeking skills, such as interview techniques and CV writing. Furthermore, speakers will discuss topics such working for PhoneWatch and living in Canada.

Broadcaster and author Andrea Hayes will also chair a panel discussion on the contentious issue of the gender pay gap and how professional women can break the 'glass ceiling' to move into senior roles. Participants in the discussion will include columnist and broadcaster Barbara Scully, businesswoman Aisling Holly and journalist Angie Mezzetti.

"The issues of gender pay gap and the glass ceiling are highly contentious in Irish society and have particularly come to the fore in recent months. We're delighted that Andrea Hayes will chair what will be a lively and interesting discussion to provide insight to those seeking workforce opportunities", says Bronagh.
